About the Optional Subjects Programme

Good Scores on the Optional Papers (I & II) significantly boosts the chances of getting selected in the UPSC Civil Services Exam. It adds to the score of the Main Exam’s cut off which is becoming increasingly competitive day by day. The first step in this direction is to choose the most appropriate optional subject, based on their educational background, interest, and familiarity, and, most importantly, the aspirant's level of confidence in their ability to clear the exam in that subject.

The main objective of Vajiram & Ravi’s Optional Subject Programme 2026 for the Civil Services Exam is to give students a solid grounding in the Optional Subject-Paper I & II complete syllabus, as well as direction on how to study, use this knowledge to structure their answers to fetch good marks.

The V&R Optional Subject Programme 2026 is offered in both a Classroom and a LIVE-Online mode.
