{"id":10030,"date":"2023-04-24T12:05:51","date_gmt":"2023-04-24T06:35:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=10030"},"modified":"2025-03-29T16:56:07","modified_gmt":"2025-03-29T11:26:07","slug":"100-food-streets-in-100-districts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/100-food-streets-in-100-districts\/","title":{"rendered":"100 Food Streets in 100 districts"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>\u00a0<strong>About 100 Food Streets in 100 districts:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>This project aims to <strong>encourage safe and healthy food practices<\/strong> among food businesses and community members, thus, reducing foodborne illnesses and improving overall health outcomes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Implementation:<\/strong> It will be implemented through <strong>National Health Mission<\/strong> (NHM) in convergence with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs &amp; with technical support from <strong>Food Safety and Standards Authority of India<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The financial assistance for the initiative to States\/UTs in the <strong>form of Rs.1 crore per food street\/district<\/strong> will be given to fill up critical gaps.<\/li>\n<li>This assistance will be provided under National Health Mission (NHM) in the ratio of 60:40 or 90: 10 with the condition that standard branding of these food streets will be done as per FSSAI guidelines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Key Facts about the<\/strong> <strong>National Health Mission<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It was launched by the government of India in 2013 by <strong>subsuming the National Rural Health Mission and National Urban Health Mission.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It was designed with the <strong>aim of providing accessible, affordable, effective<\/strong> and reliable <strong>healthcare facilities<\/strong> in the rural and urban areas of the country, especially to the poor and vulnerable sections of the population.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Q1) What is the National Rural Health Mission?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) was launched by the Government of India in April 2005 to address the health needs of underserved rural areas in the country.
