{"id":100972,"date":"2026-04-30T12:46:03","date_gmt":"2026-04-30T07:16:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=100972"},"modified":"2026-04-30T12:46:03","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T07:16:03","slug":"panchayat-advancement-index-2-0","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/panchayat-advancement-index-2-0\/","title":{"rendered":"Panchayat Advancement Index 2.0"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Panchayat Advancement Index 2.0 Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj released the Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI) 2.0 Report for the FY Year 2023\u201324.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Panchayat Advancement Index 2.0<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is India\u2019s first <\/span><b>nationwide data-driven framework<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to assess <\/span><b>Gram Panchayat performance.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It serves as a robust tool for <\/span><b>evidence-based planning<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, performance monitoring, and incentivising Panchayati Raj Institutions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It evaluates each of the more than <\/span><b>2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> across the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is built on the framework of <\/span><b>Localization of <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/sustainable-development-goals\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sustainable Development Goals<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (LSDGs), which consolidates the <\/span><b>17 global SDGs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> into nine thematic areas relevant to Panchayati Raj Institutions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Indicators Used :<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It used <\/span><b>150 indicators and 230 data points<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> spanning <\/span><b>nine thematic areas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under the <\/span><b>Localization of Sustainable Development Goals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (LSDGs) \u2013<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Covering Poverty, Health, Child Welfare, Water, Environment, Infrastructure, Social Justice, Good Governance, and Women\u2019s Empowerment.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Based on their composite PAI scores, Gram Panchayats are <\/span><b>classified into five performance categories<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Achiever (A+: 90 and above)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Front Runner (A: 75 to below 90),<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Performer (B : 60 to below 75),<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aspirant (C: 40 to below 60),<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Beginner (D: below 40)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is prepared by the Union <\/span><b>Ministry of Panchayati Raj.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2256616&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Panchayat Advancement Index 2.0 is India\u2019s first nationwide data-driven framework to assess Gram Panchayat performance.
