set to launch E-PRAAPTI (EPF Aadhaar-Based Access Portal for Tracking Inoperative Accounts).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About E-PRAAPTI Portal<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">E-PRAAPTI <\/span><b>(EPF Aadhaar-Based Access Portal for Tracking Inoperative Accounts),<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a dedicated digital platform of the<\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/employees-provident-fund-organisation-epfo\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO)<\/a>.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Purpose<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: To facilitate <\/span><b>identification, tracking, Unique Account Number (UAN) linking,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>activation of old EPF accounts.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It must be noted that a <\/span><b>PF account becomes inactive<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> when <\/span><b>no new contributions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are made to the account <\/span><b>for 36 consecutive months after leaving the job, or<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the <\/span><b>PF record of the old company is not linked to the active UAN<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Universal Account Number).\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EPFO began issuing a 12-digit unique number, UAN, to each employee in 2014.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The E-PRAAPTI <\/span><b>Portal <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will provide a <\/span><b>streamlined Aadhaar-based authentication mechanism<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that will <\/span><b>enable members to securely access their old EPF account t<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hat are <\/span><b>not linked to a UAN <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>initiate <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the process for <\/span><b>updating their member profile<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, followed by <\/span><b>seamless UAN linking and activation.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the <\/span><b>initial phase<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the <\/span><b>portal will be member ID-based,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ensuring a secure and efficient rollout while delivering immediate benefits to a large segment of members who possess their member IDs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">E-PRAAPTI\u2019s scope will <\/span><b>later be expanded to include members <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who may <\/span><b>not be able to recall or access their
