Today, Bhimbetka is an important historical site and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Bhimbetka<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Location and Discovery<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bhimbetka Rock Shelters are located in the <\/span><b>Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">about <\/span><b>45 km south of Bhopal, i<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">n the foothills of the <\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/vindhya-range\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vindhya mountain range<\/a>.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The site lies among<\/span><b> sandstone hills<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> surrounded by forests, creating natural rock shelters.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These caves were discovered by <\/span><b>V. S.
