{"id":10130,"date":"2023-04-26T07:18:29","date_gmt":"2023-04-26T01:48:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=10130"},"modified":"2025-03-29T17:32:47","modified_gmt":"2025-03-29T12:02:47","slug":"pradhan-mantri-schools-for-rising-india-pm-shri-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/pradhan-mantri-schools-for-rising-india-pm-shri-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM-SHRI) Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM-SHRI) Scheme:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a <strong>Centrally Sponsored scheme<\/strong> announced in 2022.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Objective<\/strong>:<strong> Development of more than 14500 schools across the country<\/strong> by <strong>strengthening selected existing schools <\/strong>being managed by Central Government\/ State\/ UT Government\/ local bodies.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>duration of the scheme is from 2022-23 to 2026-27<\/strong>, <strong>after which<\/strong> it shall be the responsibility of the S<strong>tates\/UTs to continue to maintain the benchmarks achieved by these schools.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Features<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>The selected schools will <strong>act as exemplar schools <\/strong>s<strong>howcasing all components of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP)<\/strong> and o<strong>ffering mentorship to other schools in their vicinity.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The PM SHRI Schools <strong>will be developed as Green Schools,<\/strong> incorporating environment-friendly aspects.<\/li>\n<li>T<strong>he pedagogy adopted<\/strong> in these schools <strong>will be more experiential, holistic, integrated,<\/strong> play\/toy-based (particularly in the foundational years), inquiry-driven, discovery-oriented, learner-centric, discussion-based, flexible and enjoyable.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>focus will be on the learning outcomes<\/strong> of every child in every grade.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Assessment<\/strong> at all levels <strong>will be based on conceptual understanding and application of knowledge<\/strong> to real-life situations and will be competency-based.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Linkage with Sector Skill Councils and local industry <\/strong>for enhancing employability and providing better employment opportunities will be explored.<\/li>\n<li><strong>A School Quality Assessment Framework (SQAF) <\/strong>is being developed, specifying the key performance indicators to measure outcomes. The National Education Policy 2020 proposes various reforms in school education as well as higher education including technical education. A number of action points\/activities for implementation in school education as well as higher education are mentioned in the National Education Policy 2020.
