under the Prompt Corrective Action (PCA) framework, the Reserve Bank of India may take the following actions:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Impose restrictions on branch expansion, dividend distribution, and cap compensation and fees of management and directors.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In extreme cases, restrict or stop lending operations and impose caps on lending to specific sectors or entities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Increase provisioning requirements to strengthen the bank\u2019s financial position and improve balance sheet Corrective Action (PCA) Applicability\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Prompt Corrective Action (PCA) framework is applied across different types of financial institutions based on their size, structure, and regulatory importance to ensure timely intervention in case of financial stress.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applicable to all <\/span><b>Scheduled Commercial Banks,<\/b> <b>excluding <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/what-are-small-finance-banks-sfbs\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Small Finance Banks<\/b><\/a><b> and <\/b><a
