This includes building equitable systems; conducting joint exercises; and sharing information on good practices, challenges, and opportunities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dedicate sustained investments, financing and monitoring of pandemic preparedness<\/strong> with a particular focus on addressing the gaps identified during past pandemics and epidemics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Key facts about WHO?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It was established on April 7, 1948, with <strong>headquarters in Geneva<\/strong>, Switzerland.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Structure:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It is governed by the <strong>World Health Assembly<\/strong>, which is composed of representatives <strong>from all member states.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The Assembly meets annually to set policies, approve budgets, and elect the Director-General.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Director-General<\/strong> is the chief executive officer of the WHO and is responsible for overseeing its operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Its work focuses on <strong>promoting health and preventing disease,<\/strong> preparing for and responding to <strong>health emergencies<\/strong>, and improving <strong>access to health services<\/strong> and medicines.<\/li>\n<li>It works closely with a range of partners, including other UN agencies, governments, NGOs, and the private sector, to achieve its objectives.<\/li>\n<li>It is primarily <strong>funded by<\/strong> contributions from <strong>its member states<\/strong>.
