text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an <\/span><b>indigenously built stealth guided missile destroyer <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the Indian Navy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the third ship to be built under the <\/span><b>Project P-15B<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> series of stealth destroyers, otherwise known as the<\/span><b> Visakhapatnam-class.<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The<\/span><b> other destroyers in the Visakhapatnam class<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are <\/span><b>INS Visakhapatnam, INS Mormugao, and INS Surat.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was commissioned into the Indian Navy in December 2023.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The<\/span><b> Navy\u2019s Warship Design Bureau designed <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the ship in-house, and <\/span><b>Mazagon Dock Ltd. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(MDL) was <\/span><b>responsible for its construction.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the<\/span><b> first warship <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to be<\/span><b> named after a city in the Northeast, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Imphal \u2014 the capital of Manipur.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was the <\/span><b>first naval warship commissioned with accommodation for women officers <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and sailors.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a unit of the Indian <\/span><b>Navy&#8217;s Western Fleet.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Missions include <\/span><b>anti-air warfare (AAW), anti-surface warfare (ASuW),<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>anti-submarine warfare (ASW).<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>INS Imphal <\/b><b>Features<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is among the <\/span><b>largest destroyers constructed in India,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with an overall length of 164 metres and a displacement of over 7500 tonnes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has a crew complement of 50 officers and 250 enlisted personnel.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is propelled by <\/span><b>four powerful Gas Turbines, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in a Combined Gas &amp; Gas configuration, and is capable of achieving speeds in excess of 30 knots (56 km\/hour).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has a<\/span><b> maximum operating endurance of 45 days.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ship has <\/span><b>BrahMos missiles<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>medium-range surface-to-air missiles, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">indigenous anti-submarine rocket launchers, and a 76 mm super rapid gun mount.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has <\/span><b>modern surveillance radar, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which provides target data to the gunnery weapon systems.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;
