{"id":10267,"date":"2024-09-26T10:36:18","date_gmt":"2024-09-26T05:06:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=10267"},"modified":"2025-03-29T19:12:31","modified_gmt":"2025-03-29T13:42:31","slug":"unified-logistics-interface-platform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/unified-logistics-interface-platform\/","title":{"rendered":"Unified Logistics Interface Platform"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Why in the news?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Hackathon 2.0 is a competitive event, <strong>aimed at fostering innovation and developing digital solutions to tackle pressing challenges in the logistics industry.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It invites <strong>developers, start-ups, and industry players<\/strong> to come together.<\/li>\n<li>The focus of this year&#8217;s hackathon is on addressing key logistics challenges such as <strong>sustainability, complex supply chain processes, unified documentation, and multimodal logistics optimization.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>About Unified Logistics Interface Platform:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>ULIP is a digital gateway that <strong>allows industry players to access logistics-related datasets from various Government systems through API-based integration.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Currently, the platform integrates with <strong>37 systems from 10 ministries via 118 APIs, covering over 1800 data fields.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>It was launched by the Prime Minister <strong>as part of the \u2018National Logistics Policy (NLP)\u2019 on September 17, 2022.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>objectives:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>To create a nationwide <strong>single window logistics platform<\/strong> for end-to-end visibility.<\/li>\n<li>To develop a logistics gateway by <strong>integrating information available with various Govt. agencies across the value chain.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>To provide visibility for optimal usage of various modes of transportation.<\/li>\n<li>To provide data which can be utilized by the stakeholders for simplification of complicated processes like compliance, document filing, certifications, and approvals.<\/li>\n<li>To offer a platform for data exchange among government and private entities who are directly or indirectly involved in the Indian Logistics ecosystem.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Benefits:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It will give direct and indirect benefits to <strong>all logistics stakeholders <\/strong>like verification of drivers and vehicle details, tracking &amp; tracing of consignment, Route Optimization Planning and timely update on the destination of the consignment etc.<\/li>\n<li>It will enable structured planning by helping in <strong>decision making on optimum use of modes of logistics thereby saving cost and time.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is Multi-modal transport?<\/h3>\n<p>Multi-modal transport is a system of transportation that involves the use of two or more modes of transport to move goods or people from one place to another.
