{"id":103018,"date":"2026-05-12T12:06:34","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T06:36:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=103018"},"modified":"2026-05-12T12:47:38","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T07:17:38","slug":"sehat-mission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/sehat-mission\/","title":{"rendered":"SEHAT Mission"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>SEHAT Mission Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers\u2019 Welfare launched the \u2018SEHAT Mission\u2019 in Delhi.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About SEHAT Mission<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><b>SEHAT (Science Excellence for Health through Agricultural Transformation)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a national mission-mode programme designed to <\/span><b>translate agricultural advancements<\/b> <b>into<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tangible <\/span><b>health outcomes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the people of India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has been jointly launched by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/indian-council-of-agricultural-research-icar\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Indian Council of Agricultural Research<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ICAR) and the <\/span><b>Indian Council of Medical Research<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ICMR).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Objective:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Launched with the objective of building a framework for <\/span><b>\u2018Healthy Food, Healthy Farms and a Healthy India\u2019.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It strategically align agricultural research and innovation with national priorities in <\/span><b>nutrition, preventive and promotive healthcare<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, non-communicable diseases, farmer well-being, and One Health.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>The mission focuses on five priority areas<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Development and evaluation of biofortified and nutrient-dense crop<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> varieties to address malnutrition and improve nutritional status;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Strengthening integrated farming systems<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to promote dietary diversification, enhance farm incomes, and build resilience;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Addressing occupational health risks<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> among agricultural workers through targeted, evidence-based interventions;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Advancing agriculture-enabled strategies: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is for the <\/span><b>prevention and management of non-communicable diseases<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through the promotion of functional foods and nutritionally superior crop varieties<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Strengthening One Health preparedness<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: It is through <\/span><b>integrated surveillance, diagnostics<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and research at the human\u2013animal\u2013environment interface.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2260013&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SEHAT Mission is a national mission-mode programme designed to translate agricultural advancements into tangible health outcomes for the people of India.
