Day, with government holidays and remembrance events.<\/p>\n<h2>About International Labour Day<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>International Labour Day, also known as\u00a0<strong>May Day,<\/strong>\u00a0is observed annually on\u00a0<strong>May 1<\/strong>\u00a0to honor the dedication and contributions of workers across the globe.<\/li>\n<li>It is a\u00a0<strong>memorial to the labor movement&#8217;s<\/strong>\u00a0struggles and victories.<\/li>\n<li><strong>History:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The origins of International Labor Day are found in\u00a0<strong>Chicago<\/strong>, where on\u00a0<strong>May 1, 1886, workers called for a strikefor an eight-hour workday.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The protest, which\u00a0<strong>turned into<\/strong>\u00a0what is now remembered as the\u00a0<strong>Haymarket Affair<\/strong>, was a turning point in labor history.<\/li>\n<li>On May 4,\u00a0<strong>violence broke<\/strong>\u00a0out in Haymarket Square when a bomb was thrown at police officers.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>resulting gunfire resulted in several deaths<\/strong>, including six officers and a number of civilians.<\/li>\n<li>This turning point<strong>\u00a0stimulated trade unions and socialist federations\u00a0<\/strong>across Europe\u00a0<strong>to declare May 1 an international day of workers&#8217;
