The <\/span><b>new launchport will reduce pressure on SDSC<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and allow better management of different types of launches.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Kulasekarapattinam facility will mainly<\/span><b> focus on small satellite launches, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">especially using the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/what-is-small-satellite-launch-vehicle-sslv-d2\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Small Satellite Launch Vehicle<\/b><\/a><b> (SSLV), <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">while SDSC will continue to handle heavy and important missions like human spaceflight and large satellites.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The launchport will also <\/span><b>support on-demand launches,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which are important for commercial customers who need quick and flexible launch services.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will <\/span><b>encourage private sector participation,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> allowing companies to build satellites, develop technologies, and use the launch facility, thereby boosting innovation and investment in India\u2019s space sector.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The location of Kulasekarapattinam provides a <\/span><b>geographical advantage because it is close to the equator, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">where the Earth\u2019s rotation gives rockets extra speed, helping them <\/span><b>save fuel and carry more payload.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rockets launched from this site <\/span><b>can follow a straight southward path<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> over the sea, unlike Sriharikota launches which require turning (dog-leg movement).
