{"id":10439,"date":"2026-04-25T11:27:37","date_gmt":"2026-04-25T05:57:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=10439"},"modified":"2026-04-25T12:25:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-25T06:55:11","slug":"what-is-project-dantak","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/what-is-project-dantak\/","title":{"rendered":"Project DANTAK"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Project DANTAK Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, Project DANTAK of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) celebrated its 66th Raising Day , at Thimphu, Bhutan.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Project DANTAK<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an overseas project of the <\/span><b>Border Roads Organisation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (BRO) under the Ministry of Defence of India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Background:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It was established on <\/span><b>24 April 1961<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as a result of an agreement between Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, the third king of Bhutan and then Prime Minister of India Jawahar Lal Nehru.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is primarily focused on <\/span><b>developing infrastructure<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and providing connectivity in remote areas of Bhutan.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Achievements<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was tasked to construct the <\/span><b>pioneering motorable roads in Bhutan.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under this <\/span><b>Project, over 1,500 km<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of road has been constructed, including the strategically vital East\u2013West Highway connecting Trashigang to Thimphu.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some other notable projects include the construction of Paro Airport, Yonphula Airfield, Thimphu \u2013 Trashigang Highway, Telecommunication &amp; Hydro Power Infrastructure, Sherubtse College, Kanglung and India House Estate.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>What is the Border Road Organisation?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>road construction executive force<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in India that provides support to the Indian Armed Forces.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/border-roads-organisation-bro\/\" target=\"_blank\">BRO<\/a><\/strong> was entirely brought <span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">under<\/span> the <\/span><b>Ministry of Defence in 2015.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Establishment:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It was formed on 7 May 1960 to secure India\u2019s borders and develop infrastructure in remote areas of the north and northeastern states of the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>develops and maintains road networks<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in India\u2019s border areas and friendly neighboring<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Motto:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Shramena Sarvam Sadhyam (everything is achievable through hard work).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2255292&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1#:~:text\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Project DANTAK is an overseas project of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) under the Ministry of Defence of India.
