During the visit, India and the Netherlands elevated their bilateral ties to a Strategic Partnership and adopted the India\u2013Netherlands Strategic Partnership Roadmap (2026\u20132030) at The Hague with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Key Pillars of the India-Netherlands Strategic Partnership<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The India\u2013Netherlands Strategic Partnership (2026\u20132030) is a comprehensive framework that strengthens cooperation between the two countries across political, economic, technological, security, and socio-cultural domains for long-term mutual benefit.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Political and Diplomatic Cooperation<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India and the Netherlands agreed to maintain regular high-level political interactions between Heads of Government, Foreign Ministers, and senior ministers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A new annual mechanism at the level of Foreign Ministers will review the implementation of the strategic roadmap.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both countries will deepen cooperation in multilateral forums such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/united-nations-principal-organs\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>United Nations<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/g20\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>G20<\/strong><\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/world-trade-organisation\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>WTO<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ministries from both sides will increase regular interaction to improve coordination in multiple sectors.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Economic Cooperation and Investments<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Joint Trade and Investment Committee will work to increase trade, investment, and market access in key sectors like semiconductors, energy, telecom, infrastructure, agriculture, and pharmaceuticals.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both countries will promote participation in trade fairs and business forums to connect companies and industry bodies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Fast Track Mechanism will be reviewed regularly to resolve investment-related issues quickly.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cooperation will expand in critical minerals to strengthen and diversify global supply chains.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Two-way investments will be promoted in renewable energy, maritime, infrastructure, medtech, and high-tech sectors, with focus on startups and SMEs.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Water, Agriculture and Health Cooperation<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Netherlands will continue supporting India in integrated water management, flood control, and climate-resilient water infrastructure.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cooperation will focus on river basin management, urban water systems, coastal zone management, and water quality improvement in the Ganga Basin.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Urban River Management Plans will be developed using the Dutch \u201cWater as Leverage\u201d approach.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Collaboration through the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure will strengthen disaster-resilient urban infrastructure.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Agricultural cooperation will include agri-tech, biotechnology, sustainable farming, food security, and climate-resilient agriculture.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both countries will strengthen cooperation in infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, digital health, and disease surveillance.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Collaboration between the Indian Council of Medical Research and Dutch health institutions will support One Health research and public health preparedness.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cooperation in pharmaceuticals and medical devices will strengthen resilient healthcare supply chains.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Emerging Technologies, Innovation and Education<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India and the Netherlands agreed to enhance cooperation in semiconductors, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, cybersecurity, and advanced materials.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Indian Semiconductor Mission will collaborate with the Dutch Semicon Competence Centre to build trusted semiconductor supply chains.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A semiconductor \u201cBrain Bridge\u201d will connect Dutch universities with Indian institutions such as Indian Institute of Science and IITs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dutch technology companies such as ASML and NXP Semiconductors will play an important role in semiconductor cooperation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both countries signed an MoU on Higher Education to strengthen academic exchanges and research partnerships.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Space cooperation will focus on climate monitoring, food security, water management, and environmental sustainability.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Energy Transition and Maritime Development<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Joint Working Group on Renewable Energy will promote cooperation in green hydrogen, renewable energy, battery storage, and clean technologies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India and the Netherlands will develop a Green and Digital Sea Corridor for sustainable maritime connectivity. The corridor is expected to facilitate India\u2019s future green hydrogen exports to Europe.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both countries will cooperate under initiatives such as the International Solar Alliance and the Global Biofuels Alliance.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span Cooperation<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India and the Netherlands agreed to strengthen military cooperation through structured tri-services interactions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maritime cooperation will increase through naval exercises and engagement with the Information Fusion Centre\u2013Indian Ocean Region.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Netherlands will enhance participation in India-led Indo-Pacific initiatives.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Defence Industrial Roadmap will promote will explore a Mutual Logistic Support Agreement for operational cooperation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/cyber-security\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Cybersecurity<\/strong><\/a>, cybercrime prevention, and counterterrorism cooperation will be strengthened.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India and the Netherlands will also work towards concluding a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty and a new Extradition Treaty.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Migration and Mobility\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Resolved to facilitate fair migration and mobility to each other\u2019s countries.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Determined to jointly take appropriate steps to prevent and counter irregular migration.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cooperate to facilitate fair mobility of students, academics, doctoral students, researchers, and highly skilled professionals, including young professionals.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Culture and People-to-People Exchanges<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enhance bilateral cultural cooperation through continuous dialogue, exchange programs, and joint initiatives, including knowledge exchange on preservation and restoration of heritage sites and buildings.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Welcome the ongoing efforts for implementation of Memorandum of Understanding on cultural cooperation with the focus on strengthening collaboration in design, visual arts, cultural heritage, performing arts and museum sectors.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Continue to cooperate in the handling of the request for the return and restitution of cultural artifacts.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The return of the Leiden Copper Plates symbolised growing trust and cultural diplomacy between the two countries.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both sides will support cultural exhibitions and museum partnerships to increase awareness of each other\u2019s culture.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Efforts will be made to increase tourism and travel between the two countries.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The two countries acknowledged the important contribution of Indian and Dutch communities, including the Indian diaspora in the Netherlands, in strengthening long-standing cultural relations and promoting enduring people-to-people ties<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>India-Netherlands Strategic Partnership (2026-2030) Roadmap Significance<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The partnership strengthens India\u2019s engagement with Europe through a trusted and innovation-driven partner in the
