generations, the Anal Naga tribe has protected forests through <\/span><b>Uju and Rangkang-community-led systems.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>What is Uju?\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It refers to<\/span><b> community-managed reserved forests<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> located near Anal villages.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These are <\/span><b>protected collectively<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, usually under the<\/span><b> supervision of village authorities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and elders, who regulate how resources can be used.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Decisions <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are <\/span><b>made collectively <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">during annual assemblies attended by residents.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Discussions range from land disputes and road repairs to forest regulations and jhum cultivation permission.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Forest products <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">such as mushrooms, herbs, wild vegetables, flowers, fruits, berries, and medicinal plants <\/span><b>may be gathered carefully<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for household use, but<\/span><b> extraction for profit is restricted.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>What is Rangkang?<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It refers to <\/span><b>untouched forest areas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> located<\/span><b> deeper within jhum cultivation landscapes.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unlike Uju, which is actively managed, Rangkang forests are<\/span><b> left largely undisturbed.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over generations, communities have intentionally avoided cultivating
