The MINURCAT (United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic and Chad) was a multidimensional United Nations peacekeeping mission established in September 2007 to address the growing humanitarian and security crisis in <\/span>Central Africa<\/b>. The mission primarily focused on protecting refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and civilians affected by the spillover of the <\/span>Darfur conflict<\/b> from Sudan into eastern <\/span>Chad <\/b>and the north-eastern <\/span>Central African Republic (CAR)<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

MINURCAT Operation Background<\/b><\/h2>\n

The <\/span>MINURCAT (United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic and Chad)<\/b> was created in response to the humanitarian crisis caused by the <\/span>Darfur conflict<\/b> in Sudan, which began in 2003.<\/span><\/p>\n
