{"id":10511,"date":"2026-03-29T12:30:27","date_gmt":"2026-03-29T07:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=10511"},"modified":"2026-03-29T16:41:38","modified_gmt":"2026-03-29T11:11:38","slug":"group-of-seven-g7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/group-of-seven-g7\/","title":{"rendered":"G7 Group"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>G7 Group Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Union External Affairs Minister met French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the G7 Foreign Ministers&#8217; Summit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About G7 Group<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Group of Seven (G7) is an informal grouping of seven of the world\u2019s advanced economies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>founded in 1975<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in response to the oil crisis.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Members:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Russia was a member<\/span><b> from 1998,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the group temporarily became the G8.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In <\/span><b>2014<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the group returned to the G7 format.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The G7 originally dealt exclusively with issues related to the development of the global economy.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It now covers the <\/span><b>entire spectrum of global issues<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, such as foreign and security policy, trade, climate, and development.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Governance<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is <\/span><b>no firmly established secretariat<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, procedural guidelines, or administrative structures.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its <\/span><b>presidency rotates each calendar year<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> among the member states.
