Sports Board"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>National Sports Board Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Union Government has notified the National Sports Governance (National Sports Board) Rules, 2026 and the National Sports Governance (National Sports Tribunal) Rules, 2026 under the provisions of the National Sports Governance Act, 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About National Sports Board<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will function as the <\/span><b>central authority for granting recognition to National Sports Bodies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and ensuring compliance with governance, financial and ethical standards.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Composition<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It shall consist of a <\/span><b>Chairperson and two Members<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to be appointed by the Central Government.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is constituted from a panel of names recommended by the <\/span><b>Search-cum-Selection Committee.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Term of Office<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Chairperson and every other Member<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> shall <\/span><b>hold office for a term of three years<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or till they attain the age <\/span><b>of sixty-five years,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> whichever is earlier.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They are<\/span><b> eligible for re-appointment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for one more term.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Functions<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Board shall <\/span><b>maintain a register of affiliate<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> units of the National Sports Bodies registered with the Board.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They <\/span><b>specify model guidelines<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or regulations in relation to matters of <\/span><b>sports governance<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Key Facts about National Sports Tribunal<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will serve as a <\/span><b>dedicated adjudicatory body<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for <\/span><b>sports-related disputes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>aimed at reducing reliance on civil courts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and ensuring independent, speedy, effective and cost-efficient disposal of disputes relating to sports governance and administration.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Composition: Chairperson and two other members<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> appointed by the Central Government.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Eligibility Criteria<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Chairperson<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> shall be a person <\/span><b>who is or has been, a Judge of the Supreme Court<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or the <\/span><b>Chief Justice of a High Court.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Members <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">shall be persons of <\/span><b>eminence in public life<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with wide knowledge and experience in sports, public administration and law.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Term of Office<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Chairperson<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> shall <\/span><b>hold office for a term of 5years<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or till he attain the <\/span><b>age of 75 years<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, whichever is earlier.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Members<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> shall hold office for a <\/span><b>term of 5 years <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or till they attain the <\/span><b>age of 67 years, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">whichever is earlier.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Powers<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will have powers <\/span><b>similar to those of a civil court<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No civil court shall have jurisdiction to entertain any suit or proceeding in respect of any matter on which the Tribunal is empowered to determine, and <\/span><b>no injunction shall be
