{"id":106025,"date":"2026-05-31T13:40:10","date_gmt":"2026-05-31T08:10:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=106025"},"modified":"2026-06-02T11:16:29","modified_gmt":"2026-06-02T05:46:29","slug":"about-pm-svanidhi-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/about-pm-svanidhi-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"About PM SVANidhi Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>About PM SVANidhi Scheme Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PM SVANidhi scheme has emerged as a major initiative supporting vendors working across India\u2019s informal urban economy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About PM SVANidhi Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Prime Minister Street Vendor\u2019s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> scheme was launched in June 2020.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>Central Sector Scheme<\/b> <b>supporting street vendors<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through affordable working capital, financial inclusion and social protection measures.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Implementation:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is a joint responsibility of the <\/span><b>Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (MoHUA) and the <\/span><b>Department of Financial Services<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (DFS).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Key Features of PM SVANidhi Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Working Capital Loan:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Collateral-free loans of <\/span><b>\u20b915,000, \u20b925,000, and \u20b950,000 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are provided in three progressive tranches with interest subsidy and credit guarantee support.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>UPI-linked <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/rupay-card\/\" target=\"_blank\">RuPay<\/a> Credit Cards:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Vendors successfully repaying the second tranche are eligible for UPI-linked <\/span><b>RuPay Credit Cards with limits up to \u20b930,000.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Digital Adoption:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Cashback <\/span><b>incentives of up to \u20b91,600<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are provided to street vendors for retail\/wholesale digital transactions to encourage digital adoption and financial literacy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>SVANidhi se Samriddhi (SSS):<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Socio-economic profiling of beneficiaries and their families is undertaken to link them with <\/span><b>eight selected Central welfare schemes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and create a holistic social security net.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Capacity Building &amp; Entrepreneurship Development:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Vendors are provided with training in financial literacy, digital literacy, and food safety &amp; hygiene in collaboration with FSSAI.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2266920&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PM SVANidhi is a Central Sector Scheme that supports street vendors through affordable loans, financial inclusion, and social security benefits.
