trafficking.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About <\/b><b>Operation Chakravyuh\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Operation Chakravyuh<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is an intelligence-driven <\/span><b>anti-narcotics operation<\/b> <b>conducted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/what-is-directorate-of-revenue-intelligence-dri\/\" target=\"_blank\">Directorate of Revenue Intelligence<\/a> (DRI) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to dismantle organised drug trafficking networks and intercept illicit drug supply chains in India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The operation recently led to the seizure of over 24 kg of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in <\/span><b>Kerala across Kochi, Malappuram and Thiruvananthapuram.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The seized substances included <\/span><b>methaqualone, methamphetamine and hashish oil,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which were intended for illegal distribution within domestic drug networks.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Five individuals, including key operatives of trafficking syndicates, were arrested under the provisions of the <\/span><b>Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985<\/b><b>.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The contraband was detected through multiple smuggling channels including passenger baggage at airports, concealed courier consignments and outbound export cargo.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The operation highlights the growing threat of synthetic drugs and the increasing complexity of organised transnational drug trafficking networks.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also demonstrates improved intelligence coordination and multi-agency enforcement aimed at dismantling entire trafficking ecosystems rather than isolated shipments.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Operation Chakravyuh aligns with the national objective of achieving a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/nasha-mukt-bharat-abhiyaan\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Nasha Mukt Bharat (Drug-Free India)<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through strengthened enforcement and demand reduction strategies.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>About Directorate of Revenue Intelligence<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) is <\/span><b>India\u2019s apex anti-smuggling and anti-narcotics intelligence agency.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It functions under the <\/span><b>Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Ministry of Finance.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DRI is <\/span><b>responsible for preventing smuggling, combating drug trafficking, curbing
