{"id":10914,"date":"2023-05-17T09:42:29","date_gmt":"2023-05-17T04:12:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=10914"},"modified":"2025-03-29T23:26:44","modified_gmt":"2025-03-29T17:56:44","slug":"global-report-on-internal-replacement-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/global-report-on-internal-replacement-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Global Report on Internal Replacement 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Global Report on Internal Replacement 2023:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is <strong>released by the Norwegian Refugee Council\u2019s Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Internal displacement refers to people forced to move inside their own borders<\/strong> and the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre&#8217;s <strong>report didn\u2019t take into account those who left for different countries.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Highlights of the 2023 Report:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The number of <strong>internally displaced people (IDPs) around the world reached 71.1 million as of the end of 2022<\/strong>, an <strong>increase of 20 per cent<\/strong> from the previous year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Conflict and violence triggered 28.3 <\/strong>million internal displacements worldwide.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>conflict in Ukraine triggered nearly 17 million <\/strong>displacements.<\/li>\n<li><strong>32.6 million people were displaced due to disasters<\/strong>, an <strong>increase of 40 per cent<\/strong> from 2021 largely the <strong>result of the effects of La Ni\u00f1a<\/strong> which continued or a third consecutive year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Of the total disaster displacement, 98 per cent<\/strong> were triggered <strong>by weather-related events<\/strong> like floods and storms.<\/li>\n<li><strong>India recorded the fourth largest disaster displacement<\/strong>, with 2.5 million displacements.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pakistan had the highest number of disaster displacements in the world in 2022<\/strong>, at 8.16 million.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What are the common weather phenomena?<\/h3>\n<p>On Earth, the common weather phenomena include wind, cloud, rain, snow, fog and dust storms.
