400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite this expansion, <\/span><b>only three Indian institutions feature in the global top 200<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: IIT Delhi (118), IIT Bombay (134), and IIT Madras (170).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) emerged as India\u2019s highest-ranked institution<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, achieving a <\/span><b>global rank of 118<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u00a0 improving its position due to strong research output and employer reputation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>University of Delhi emerged as India\u2019s highest-ranked non-technical university at 322<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, one of India&#8217;s leading social sciences and humanities institutions, secured the 555th position globally.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Private universities have shown notable improvement with 24 private universities featuring in QS World University Rankings 2027.\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>For Example &#8211; <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shoolini University (ranked 452), BITS Pilani (ranked 575) and Chandigarh University (ranked 526).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Beyond the IITs, Vellore Institute of Technology recorded the country\u2019s biggest jump, climbing 94 ranks to 597th globally.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>In terms of citations per faculty,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the metric with the second highest weightage (20%), 11 institutions made the cut, with IISc Bangalore ranking 21 globally, dropping six ranks from last year.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>On employer reputation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which carries 15% weightage in the overall score, IIT-Bombay fared best among Indian institutions with a global rank of 32, up from 39 last year.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Only two Indian institutions made it to the top 100 in the employment outcomes metric <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(weightage of 5%) \u2014 University of Mumbai and University of Delhi.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>And on academic reputation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which carries the highest weightage (30%), <\/span><b>no Indian institution made it to the global top 100.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indian institutions continue to lag in internationalisation indicators such as foreign faculty, foreign students, and global research networks.
