{"id":109785,"date":"2026-06-25T12:40:49","date_gmt":"2026-06-25T07:10:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=109785"},"modified":"2026-06-25T13:27:01","modified_gmt":"2026-06-25T07:57:01","slug":"index-of-services-production","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/index-of-services-production\/","title":{"rendered":"Index of Services Production"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Index of Services Production Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) is preparing to launch Index of Services Production (ISP) in July, 2026.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Index of Services Production<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>short-term indicator<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> designed to measure changes over time in the volume of output produced by <\/span><b>the services sector<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> relative to a specified base period.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It measures changes in the real <\/span><b>output of service-producing industries over time.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is being <\/span><b>developed with 2024-25<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as the <\/span><b>proposed base year<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and will primarily use Goods and Services Tax (GST) data to track activity.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Principal Data Sources<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Administrative data<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for sectors such as air transport, railways, banking, and insurance<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>GST data<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for wholesale and retail trade, hospitality, road and water transport, warehousing, telecommunications, real estate, information technology services, professional services, and entertainment<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Annual Survey of Incorporated Services Sector Enterprises<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ASISSE) data for health and education services, which are expected to be incorporated into the framework at a later stage.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will <\/span><b>primarily reflect the formal sector<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as it is compiled using outward supply of enterprises registered under GST.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Weights assigned in ISP:<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Weights are based on <\/span><b>sectoral contributions to <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/gross-value-added-gva\/\" target=\"_blank\">Gross Value Added<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/gross-value-added-gva\/\" target=\"_blank\"> (GVA)<\/a><\/strong> available from <\/span><b>National Account Statistics.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2277392&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Index of Services Production is a short-term indicator designed to measure changes over time in the volume of output produced by the services sector relative to a specified base period.
