1887<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in <\/span><b>Khoont village near Almora<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in present-day <\/span><b>Uttarakhand in a Marathi Karhade Brahmin family.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He completed his <\/span><b>early education in Almora<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and later joined <\/span><b>Muir Central College, Allahabad University, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">where he studied law.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After finishing his legal education, he began <\/span><b>practising law in Kashipur<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and soon earned href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/kakori-conspiracy-case\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Kakori conspiracy case<\/b><\/a><b>.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">His legal career exposed him to the social and economic hardships faced by ordinary people under British rule, inspiring him to dedicate his life to public service and the national movement.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Govind Ballabh Pant Role in India\u2019s Freedom Struggle<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Govind Ballabh Pant <\/span><b>joined the Indian National Congress<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and actively participated in every major phase of the national movement.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He played a <\/span><b>leading role in the Coolie Begar Movement in the Kumaon region<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: of Uttar Pradesh (1950-1954)<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>Govind Ballabh Pant first served as Premier of the United Provinces (1937-39) under the <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/government-of-india-act-1935\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Government of India Act, 1935<\/b><\/a><b>. After Independence, he became the first Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh (1950-1954) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and laid the foundations of modern governance in the State.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He implemented the <\/span><b>Uttar Pradesh Zamindari Abolition and Land Reforms Act, 1950<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
