{"id":110550,"date":"2026-06-30T13:01:47","date_gmt":"2026-06-30T07:31:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=110550"},"modified":"2026-06-30T14:11:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-30T08:41:09","slug":"unified-health-interface","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/unified-health-interface\/","title":{"rendered":"Unified Health Interface"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Unified Health Interface Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare launched the Unified Health Interface (UHI).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Unified Health Interface<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">an <\/span><b>interoperable digital network<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/what-is-ayushman-bharat-digital-mission\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ABDM).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0UHI aims to <\/span><b>solve for information asymmetry,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> accessibility to health services and wider choice of verified providers across services without being tied to a single application.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was launched as the <\/span><b>service layer of the ABDM.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Working of Unified Health Interface<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UHI <\/span><b>operates through open protocols<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on a core Gateway of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, developed and <\/span><b>maintained by the National Health Authority (NHA).<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When a <\/span><b>citizen uses a UHI-enabled app<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to search for a health service, the request is routed through the Gateway to registered service providers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The entire journey from discovery and booking to fulfillment is facilitated through a common language, irrespective of the platform used to seek or provide the service.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The network uses <\/span><b>Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA)<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as the <\/span><b>patient identifier<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the <\/span><b>Healthcare Professionals Registry<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (HPR) and <\/span><b>Health Facility Registry<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (HFR) for provider verification, and the Health Information Exchange for consent-based data sharing.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Key Objectives of Unified Health Interface<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Interoperability: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Patients and providers can <\/span><b>use any UHI-enabled platform<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to seek or offer care, removing the dependency on shared platforms that currently limits digital health access.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Fair discoverability<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Every verified healthcare provider, regardless of size, geography, or platform, has an <\/span><b>equal opportunity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to be found on the network.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Verification:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Only verified doctors and facilities credentialed through ABDM registries (HPR and HFR) are permitted to participate, ensuring citizens can trust the network.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Open protocols:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> UHI is built on open specifications accessible to all, enabling developers of any size to build and offer health applications in any language, on any devices.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2278987&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Unified Health Interface is an interoperable digital network under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).
