Employees\u2019 Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) carried out a planned nationwide database consolidation under its Centralised IT-Enabled System (CITES) project.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Centralised IT-Enabled System (CITES) Project<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is EPFO&#8217;s initiative to <\/span><b>modernise its service delivery mechanism<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through automation and rule-based processing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is designed by the <\/span><b>Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC).\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Features of Centralised IT-Enabled System (CITES) Project<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Single Database:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> CITES provides a <\/span><b>single centralised system<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> architecture with <\/span><b>one national database.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Online services:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Most of the services, <\/span><b>including KYC updates<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, can be done online using the new platform.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Faster Service:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The new interface simplifies transfers, helps maintain an accurate service history, and enables faster settlements.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Members or beneficiaries will now be <\/span><b>able to approach any PF office across<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the country for the <\/span><b>redress of their queries and<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for seeking clarifications.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>current <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/universal-account-number\/\" target=\"_blank\">Universal Account Number<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/universal-account-number\/\" target=\"_blank\"> (UAN)<\/a><\/strong> and password created by the member can be used to access the new system.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It allows members to see all their previous member IDs under the Universal Account Number linked with a single KYC (Aadhaar).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight:
