


{"id":111073,"date":"2026-07-03T12:29:34","date_gmt":"2026-07-03T06:59:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=111073"},"modified":"2026-07-03T12:29:34","modified_gmt":"2026-07-03T06:59:34","slug":"hul-diwas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/hul-diwas\/","title":{"rendered":"Hul Diwas"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Hul Diwas Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the state of Jharkhand celebrated Hul Diwas to honour Santhal revolutionaries.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Hul Diwas<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is observed every year on 30th June to commemorate the <\/span><b>Santhal Rebellion of 1855.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the <\/span><b>Santhali<\/b> <b>language, the term \u201cHul\u201d means revolution,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> uprising, or resistance.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>day of cultural pride,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> remembrance, and resistance for the tribal communities of Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, and Bihar.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Key Facts about Santal Uprising<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Santal Rebellion was one <\/span><b>of the first tribal uprisings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> against British colonial rule and the feudal-zamindari system.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The movement was <\/span><b>initiated by the Santhal tribe,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> primarily led by <\/span><b>Sidho Murmu and Kanhu Murmu<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with the support of thousands of tribal men and women.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The rebellion <\/span><b>began on 30th June 1855<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Bhognadih village, located in present-day Sahibganj district of Jharkhand.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It quickly spread across parts of present-day Jharkhand, Bihar, and West Bengal.
