It promotes cooperative values, protects the interests of cooperatives and works closely with international organisations.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Established<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in 1895.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Headquarters<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are located in Brussels, Belgium.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the apex global organisation representing cooperatives.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It represents more than three million cooperatives worldwide.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It works closely with the United Nations and other international organisations.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It coordinates the global celebration of the International Day of Cooperatives.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Committee for the Promotion and Advancement of Cooperatives (COPAC)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">COPAC is a global partnership that promotes cooperatives as an important tool for achieving sustainable development.
