found a significant difference between metals and insulators that a well-known mathematical model could not explain. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Rutile<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>mineral <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">composed primarily of<\/span><b> titanium dioxide, TiO<\/b><b>2<\/b><b>.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the<\/span><b> most common and stable form of titanium dioxide<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> found in nature.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>one of the three main minerals of titanium,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> along with<\/span><b> ilmenite and leucoxene.\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It forms<\/span><b> red to reddish brown, hard, brilliant metallic, slender crystals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, often completely surrounded by other minerals.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Natural Rutile can <\/span><b>contain up to 10% iron<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and large amounts of niobium and tantalum.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rutile was first described in 1803 by Abraham Gottlob Werner.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Rutile <\/b><b>Occurrence<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is found in <\/span><b>igneous, metamorphic, and <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/sedimentary-rock\/\" target=\"_blank\">sedimentary rocks<\/a><\/b> <b>throughout the world.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rutile has a <\/span><b>high specific gravity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and is<\/span><b> often concentrated by stream and wave action in &#8220;heavy mineral sands&#8221;<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that exist today in both onshore and offshore deposits.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Much of the world&#8217;s rutile production is <\/span><b>mined from these sands.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rutile ore is largely available in countries like <\/span><b>Australia, India, South Africa, Ukraine, and Sierra Leone.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>India <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has significant rutile deposits in the <\/span><b>coastal sands of states such as Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Rutile <\/b><b>Uses<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rutile has several important industrial applications due to its <\/span><b>high refractive index<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and<\/span><b> strong resistance to heat and chemical corrosion.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of its main uses is <\/span><b>as a pigment in paints, plastics, ceramics,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and other materials.\u00a0 It<\/span><b> imparts a bright white color and excellent opacity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to these products.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rutile has<\/span><b> minor uses in porcelain and glass manufacture<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and in making some steels and copper alloys.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rutile is also used as a s<\/span><b>ource of titanium metal,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which has a<\/span><b> wide range of applications <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in industries such as <\/span><b>aerospace, automotive, electronics, and medical devices.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to its industrial uses, rutile is<\/span><b> valued as a collector\u2019s mineral<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>gemstone<\/b><span style=\"font-weight:
