These rights allow a person to control how their identity is used, especially for commercial purposes such as advertisements, merchandise, or endorsements. In India, personality rights are derived from the <\/span><b>Right to Privacy under Article 21<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and supported by intellectual property laws and judicial decisions. They help safeguard an individual&#8217;s <\/span><b>privacy, reputation, dignity, and commercial value<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Two Pillars of Personality Rights in India<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Personality Rights in India are primarily based on two key principles: the <\/b><b><i>Right to Publicity<\/i><\/b><b> and the <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/right-to-privacy\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b><i>Right to Privacy<\/i><\/b><\/a><b>, which together protect an individual&#8217;s identity, dignity, and commercial interests.<\/b><\/p>\n<h3><b>1.
