Mormugao coincidentally undertook her <strong>first sea sortie on December 19, 2021, when Goa celebrated 60 years of liberation<\/strong> from Portuguese rule.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Features<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>It measures <strong>163 m in length<\/strong>, and <strong>17 m in breadth<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Displacement: 7,400 tonnes<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The ship is <strong>propelled by four powerful Gas Turbines<\/strong>, in a Combined Gas and Gas (COGAG) configuration.<\/li>\n<li>It is capable of achieving <strong>speeds in excess of 30 knots<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The ship has <strong>enhanced stealth features<\/strong> resulting in a <strong>reduced Radar Cross Section (RCS).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The ship is fitted with a <strong>modern Surveillance Radar<\/strong> which provides target data to the gunnery weapon systems of the ship.<\/li>\n<li>It is packed with <strong>sofisticated weapons and sensors<\/strong> such as <strong>Surface to Surface Missile and Surface to Air Missiles.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Its <strong>Anti-Submarine Warfare capabilities<\/strong> are provided by the indigenously-developed Rocket Launchers, Torpedo Launchers and the ASW helicopters.<\/li>\n<li>It is <strong>equipped to fight under nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) warfare conditions.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1)\u00a0What is a guided missile destroyer?<\/h3>\n<p>Destroyers provide multi-mission capabilities, operating independently or as part of carrier strike groups, surface action groups, amphibious ready groups and replenishment groups.
