{"id":112345,"date":"2026-07-10T11:52:50","date_gmt":"2026-07-10T06:22:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=112345"},"modified":"2026-07-10T11:52:50","modified_gmt":"2026-07-10T06:22:50","slug":"national-institute-of-science-education-and-research","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/national-institute-of-science-education-and-research\/","title":{"rendered":"National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Vice-President of India recently addressed the 15th Graduation Ceremony of the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER)<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Established <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in <\/span><b>2006<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, NISER is an <\/span><b>Autonomous Institute under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Government of India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>residential institute <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">about 20 km <\/span><b>south of Bhubaneswar in Odisha<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, equipped with the state-of-art laboratories, computational facilities, computer center, library and hostel facilities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is<\/span><b> affiliated with Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), Mumbai<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a deemed research university that <\/span><b>oversees academic programs at institutions <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that are <\/span><b>part of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) structure.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The primary objective of the Institute is to train and nurture human resources in the Sciences for the knowledge economies of the future\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>activities <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">at NISER can be broadly classified into three categories:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Science Education: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It serves as a centre of excellence for <\/span><b>undergraduate and postgraduate education in basic sciences.\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It offers a five-year integrated <\/span><b>MSc as well as PhD degrees <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in pure and applied sciences.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Scientific Research:\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NISER encourages both theoretical and experimental research in frontier areas in all branches of science.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NISER currently has <\/span><b>seven separate schools specializing<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in different areas of science.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Science Outreach &amp;
