style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, India and Australia launched the Australia-India Partnership on Cyber, Critical Technologies and Supply Chains (PACTS).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Partnership on Cyber, Critical Technologies and Supply Chains (PACTS)<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a new framework aimed at <\/span><b>strengthening cooperation in cyber security<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, critical technologies, resilient supply chains and defence research.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It replaces the 2020 Framework Arrangement on Cyber and Cyber Enabled Critical Technology Cooperation (2020 Framework).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Bilateral Oversight:<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The partnership will be jointly overseen by <\/span><b>India\u2019s Deputy National Security Advisor <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and Australia\u2019s Deputy Secretary of the International and Security Group in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Pillars of PACTS<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Supply Chain Resilience and Diversification<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under this both countries will work towards secure, <\/span><b>resilient and trustworthy supply chains.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also work to develop <\/span><b>secure and trusted technology supply chains<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, strengthen cooperation on undersea cable security through the <\/span><b>Quad Partnership for Cable Connectivity and Resilience<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>India Lead:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Critical Technology<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under this with both countries committing to deepen <\/span><b>collaboration in artificial intelligence,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> space technologies, telecommunications, biotechnology and advanced materials.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>India Lead:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Cyber security Pillar<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India and Australia will enhance cooperation to <\/span><b>combat cybercrime, strengthen cyber resilience and protect critical infrastructure<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It includes plans to establish a <\/span><b>streamlined bilateral cyber cooperation mechanism<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, expand dialogue on cybersecurity and data governance and establish a cyber-technology skill incubator to promote workforce development.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>India Lead:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Cyber Diplomacy Division, Ministry of External Affairs<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Digital Resilience<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It aims to expand cooperation in <\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/digital-public-infrastructure-dpi\/\" target=\"_blank\">digital public infrastructure (DPI)<\/a> across the Indo-Pacific.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Affordable DPI includes areas such as clean and renewable energy, resilient critical infrastructure etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The initiative also seeks to support partner countries in <\/span><b>adopting India\u2019s Digital Public Infrastructure model<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through capacity-building programmes and pilot projects.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>India Lead:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Oceania Division, Ministry of External Affairs<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Defence Research Collaboration<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under this the two countries will strengthen ties between Australia\u2019s Defence Science and Technology Group and India\u2019s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO),<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also promotes collaboration between defence start-ups, and undertakes joint research in maritime surveillance, advanced materials and other defence technologies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"
