{"id":112910,"date":"2026-07-13T13:38:24","date_gmt":"2026-07-13T08:08:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=112910"},"modified":"2026-07-13T13:38:24","modified_gmt":"2026-07-13T08:08:24","slug":"negotiated-dealing-system-order-matching","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/negotiated-dealing-system-order-matching\/","title":{"rendered":"Negotiated Dealing System-Order Matching"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Negotiated Dealing System-Order Matching Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bloomberg has introduced the first electronic trade in Indian government bonds (IGBs) through its terminal by directly connecting to the Negotiated Dealing System-Order Matching (NDS-OM).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Negotiated Dealing System-Order Matching<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>launched in 2005 by the Reserve Bank of India.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>screen based electronic anonymous order matching system<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for secondary market trading in Government securities owned by RBI.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Presently the membership<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the system is open to entities like <\/span><b>Banks, Primary Dealers, Insurance Companies, Mutual Funds etc.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All central <\/span><b>government securities, state government securities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>treasury bills<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are tradable on the NDS-OM Web Module.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additionally, it <\/span><b>allows members to negotiate bilaterally<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through the <\/span><b>\u201cRequest for Quote\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> segment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The system is designed to bring transparency to secondary market transactions while enabling members to place bids and offers directly on the NDS-OM screen.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are <\/span><b>two types of NDS-OM members<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, including<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Direct Members:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Direct <\/span><b>members have current accounts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with the RBI and can directly settle trades on NDS-OM.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Indirect Members:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Indirect <\/span><b>members do not have current accounts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with the RBI and must settle through NDS-OM members that have direct accounts.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most foreign institutional investors have indirect access, while resident entities may have direct access.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Trade Settlement:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Under this trades <\/span><b>are <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/t1-settlement-system\/\" target=\"_blank\">settled at T+1 <\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and guaranteed by <\/span><b>Clearing Corporation of India Limited (CCIL).<\/b><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Benefits<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Wider market access<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">; level playing field for all.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Immediate dissemination of market info<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lower transaction cost.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.business-standard.com\/markets\/news\/bloomberg-rolls-out-electronic-platform-for-indian-government-bond-trading-126070901070_1.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">BS<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Negotiated Dealing System-Order Matching was launched in 2005 by the Reserve Bank of India.
