These membranes are called meninges.<\/li>\n<li>The most <strong>common causes<\/strong> of meningitis are <strong>viral and bacterial infections<\/strong>. <strong>Other causes may include:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>cancer<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>fungi<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>drug-induced reactions<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Transmission<\/strong>: Infections that cause meningitis can be spread through <strong>sneezing and coughing.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Symptoms<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>Common symptoms of meningitis are <strong>neck stiffness, fever, confusion or altered mental status, headache<\/strong>s, nausea and vomiting.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Less frequent symptoms are seizures, coma and neurological deficits<\/strong> (for example hearing or vision loss, cognitive impairment, or weakness of the limbs).<\/li>\n<li>Types of <strong>meningitis caused by viruses or bacteria<\/strong> can <strong>have similar symptoms<\/strong>. Symptoms may be <strong>stronger in some types of meningitis<\/strong> than in others and require different treatment.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Treatment and Prevention:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Meningitis is a <strong>medical emergency. <\/strong>It is potentially <strong>fatal within 24 hours<\/strong> and <strong>requires urgent medical attention<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Meningitis can <strong>vary in severity<\/strong>, appropriate treatment and care depending on the cause. Meningitis <strong>caused by bacteria requires immediate antibiotic treatment.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Vaccines offer the best protection<\/strong> against common types of bacterial meningitis.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Antibiotics for close contacts of those with meningococcal disease<\/strong>, when given promptly, decreases the risk of transmission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1)\u00a0What is Cosmetic Surgery?<\/h3>\n<p>Cosmetic surgery is where a person chooses to have an operation, or invasive medical procedure, to change their physical appearance for cosmetic rather than medical reasons.
