Religious festivals, harvest festivals and cultural fairs together preserve the historical and cultural identity of Bengal.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Major Festivals of West Bengal<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The major festivals of West Bengal represent the state\u2019s religious traditions, folk culture, artistic heritage and social harmony. These festivals include Durga Puja, Kali Puja, Gangasagar Mela, Poush Mela, Rash Mela and various folk festivals, which showcase Bengal\u2019s unique blend of spirituality, creativity and community participation.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><b>Durga Puja<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Durga Puja is the most important festival of West Bengal, celebrating Goddess Durga\u2019s victory over Mahishasura and the triumph of good over evil.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span
