{"id":11439,"date":"2023-05-25T04:10:21","date_gmt":"2023-05-24T22:40:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=11439"},"modified":"2025-03-30T02:36:34","modified_gmt":"2025-03-29T21:06:34","slug":"udan-51-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/udan-51-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"UDAN 5.1 Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About UDAN 5.1 Scheme:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>After 4 successful rounds of the <strong>Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) &#8211; Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN)<\/strong>, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has launched UDAN 5.1 to further <strong>enhance the connectivity to remote areas<\/strong> of the country and achieve last mile <strong>connectivity through helicopters<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>main features include:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>An <strong>increase in the scope of operations for operators<\/strong> wherein the scheme will now allow routes where one of the origin or destination locations is in a priority area. Earlier both points had to be in priority areas.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Airfare caps<\/strong> have been <strong>reduced by as much as 25%<\/strong> to make flying in helicopters more affordable for passengers.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Viability Gap Funding (VGF) caps<\/strong> for the operators have been <strong>increased <\/strong>substantially for<strong> both single and twin-engine helicopters<\/strong> to enhance financial viability for operating the awarded routes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Previous rounds of the scheme have <strong>already operationalised 46 helicopter routes<\/strong>, benefiting <strong>hilly and North-East states<\/strong>.
