Raju as the Deputy Expedition Leader, was <\/span><b>flagged off<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Mumbai\u2019s historic Gateway of India on 11 September <\/span><b>2025<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aboard the<\/span><b> Indian Army Sailing Vessel (IASV) Triveni, nine women officers <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the three Services <\/span><b>returned <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to Mumbai on July 22, <\/span><b>2026 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">after successfully completing a <\/span><b>314-day voyage <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">covering nearly 25,500 nautical miles across four oceans.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The expedition<\/span><b> successfully fulfilled all internationally recognised criteria for a circumnavigation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>crossing all meridians of longitude;<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>crossing the Equator twice<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>crossing the International Date Line<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">; and\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>rounding the Three Great Capes <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; <\/span><b>Cape Leeuwin (Australia), Cape Horn (South America) and the <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/cape-of-good-hope\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cape of Good Hope<\/a> (Africa).\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>successful passage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through the <\/span><b>formidable Drake Passage and rounding of Cape Horn earned<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the crew membership of the <\/span><b>prestigious fraternity of Cape Horner<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s, an honour reserved for sailors who conquer one of the world\u2019s most demanding maritime passages.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The mission was made possible through meticulous planning, nearly two years of intensive training, and a dedicated <\/span><b>24X7 shore-based support network.\u00a0 <\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>News<\/b><strong>:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2287716&amp;reg=48&amp;lang=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>PIB<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Samudra Pradakshina was the first ever Tri-service all-women circumnavigation.
