{"id":11483,"date":"2023-05-26T12:40:17","date_gmt":"2023-05-26T07:10:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=11483"},"modified":"2025-03-30T02:52:31","modified_gmt":"2025-03-29T21:22:31","slug":"8th-governing-council-meeting-of-niti-aayog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/8th-governing-council-meeting-of-niti-aayog\/","title":{"rendered":"8th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Governing Council Meeting:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The theme of this meeting will be \u201c<strong>Viksit Bharat @ 2047: Role of Team India\u201d.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Discussions will be made on <strong>eight prominent themes<\/strong> including- Viksit Bharat@2047, MSMEs, infrastructure and investments, minimizing compliances, women empowerment, health and nutrition, skill development, and Gati Shakti for area development and social infrastructure in the meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>The Governing Council of NITI Aayog:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Composition:<\/strong> The Governing Council of NITI Aayog comprises-\n<ul>\n<li>The Hon\u2019ble Prime Minister of India,<\/li>\n<li>Chief Ministers of all the States and Union Territories with legislature,<\/li>\n<li>Lt Governors of other UTs,<\/li>\n<li>Ex-Officio Members,<\/li>\n<li>Vice Chairman,<\/li>\n<li>NITI Aayog; Full-Time Members,<\/li>\n<li>Special Invitees,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>It was <strong>reconstituted <\/strong>vide a notification in <strong>February 2021 by the Cabinet Secretariat<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It is the <strong>premier body<\/strong> tasked with <strong>evolving a shared vision of national priorities<\/strong> and <strong>strategies,<\/strong> with the <strong>active involvement of States<\/strong>, in shaping the development narrative.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Objectives:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Cooperative federalism<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Presents a platform to <strong>discuss inter-Sectoral.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Inter-departmental<\/strong> and federal issues to accelerate the <strong>implementation of the<\/strong> <strong>national development agenda.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>So far, seven meetings of the Governing Council have been held. The <strong>first meeting of the council <\/strong>took place<strong> in 2015.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is the Gati Shakti scheme<\/h3>\n<p>The Pradhan Mantri Gati Shakti National Master Plan is a central government project, aimed to revolutionise infrastructure in India.
