{"id":11499,"date":"2023-05-27T03:23:01","date_gmt":"2023-05-26T21:53:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=11499"},"modified":"2025-03-30T02:58:14","modified_gmt":"2025-03-29T21:28:14","slug":"atal-bhujal-yojana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/atal-bhujal-yojana\/","title":{"rendered":"Atal Bhujal Yojana"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Atal Bhujal Yojana:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Atal Bhujal Yojana (ATAL JAL) is being implemented as a <strong>Central Sector Scheme<\/strong> since <strong>April, 2020<\/strong> in 8220 water stressed Gram Panchayats of 229 administrative blocks\/Talukas in 80 districts of <strong>seven States<\/strong> <strong>Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Implementation Period:<\/strong> for <strong>5 years (2020-21 to 2024-25).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Goal:<\/strong> To <strong>demonstrate community-led<\/strong> sustainable ground water management which can be taken to scale.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Objective:<\/strong> The major objective of the Scheme is to <strong>improve the management of groundwater resources in select water stressed<\/strong> areas in identified states.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Funding: Total <\/strong>outlay of INR 6000 crores. Out of this, <strong>INR 3,000 crores will be as loan from the World Bank<\/strong> and INR 3,000 crores as matching contribution from the Government of India.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Program Components:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Institutional Strengthening &amp; Capacity Building Component: <\/strong>This component is for strengthening institutional arrangements and capacities in the states.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Incentive Component:<\/strong> The incentive component is for incentivizing the States for convergence amongst various schemes of the Central and State Governments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nodal agency:<\/strong> The Department of Water Resources, River Development &amp; Ganga Rejuvenation, <strong>Ministry of Jal Shakti.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Outcomes of meeting:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Overall performance of the scheme is <strong>satisfactory<\/strong> and the achievements under Disbursement Linked Indicators are also noteworthy.<\/li>\n<li>The Committee decides Atal Bhujal Yojana should be taken up for <strong>continuation for another two years<\/strong> beyond 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is smile scheme?<\/h3>\n<p>The Government of India has formulated a comprehensive scheme of SMILE (Support for Marginalised.
