{"id":11539,"date":"2026-06-18T12:19:50","date_gmt":"2026-06-18T06:49:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=11539"},"modified":"2026-06-18T13:30:51","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T08:00:51","slug":"reward-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/reward-program\/","title":{"rendered":"REWARD Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>REWARD Program Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The National Rainfed Area Authority (NRAA) organized a meeting on the draft National Technical Guidelines (NTG) for Improved Watershed Management under the Rejuvenating Watersheds for Agricultural Resilience through Innovative Development (REWARD) Programme.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About REWARD Program<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">REWARD (<\/span><b>Rejuvenating Watersheds for Agricultural Resilience through Innovative Development)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> program is a <\/span><b>watershed development program<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which is being implemented in the States of <\/span><b>Karnataka and Odisha.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Time Period:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 2021 to 2026<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Aim:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The program aims to introduce modern watershed practices in the Department of Land Resources and in the States of Karnataka and Odisha.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is assisted by <\/span><b>the <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/world-bank\/\" target=\"_blank\">World Bank<\/a>.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The REWARD program works on a financial instrument <\/span><b>called \u201cPforR\u201d (Program for Results) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which means the World Bank will reimburse the loan amount against the achievement of <\/span><b>Disbursement Linked Indicators<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (DLIs).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Objective of REWARD: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To strengthen capacities of <\/span><b>national and state institutions to adopt improved watershed management<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for increasing farmers&#8217; resilience and support value chains in selected watersheds of participating States\u201d.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The program focuses on two important result areas<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strengthened institutions and supportive policy for watershed development<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Science based watershed development for climate resilience and enhanced livelihoods<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2274394&amp;reg=48&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>REWARD Program  is a watershed development program which is being implemented in the States of Karnataka and Odisha.
