Their geological structure, river valleys and plateau location make them an important landform in southern India.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Erramala Hills Features<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Erramala Hills are known for their plateau landscape, ancient rock formations, river basins and valley systems that shape the physical geography of western Andhra Pradesh.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Location: The Erramala Hills are situated in Kurnool and Nandyal districts of Andhra Pradesh.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Extent: The hill range stretches across the Deccan Plateau and extends further towards the Penna River basin in Kadapa district.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Geographical Position: The hills occupy the eastern margin of the <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/deccan-plateau\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Deccan Plateau<\/strong><\/a>.
