{"id":115586,"date":"2026-07-28T14:05:59","date_gmt":"2026-07-28T08:35:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=115586"},"modified":"2026-07-28T14:05:59","modified_gmt":"2026-07-28T08:35:59","slug":"atmanirbhar-panchayat-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/atmanirbhar-panchayat-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Atmanirbhar Panchayat Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Atmanirbhar Panchayat Program Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Union Minister of Panchayati Raj launched the Atmanirbhar Panchayat Programme and the SAMARTH Panchayat Portal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Atmanirbhar Panchayat Program<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a unique initiative of the <\/span><b>Ministry of Panchayati Raj.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It enables <\/span><b>Gram Panchayats and Block Panchayats to<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> identify <\/span><b>local assets and opportunities and develop them<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with dedicated technical support from the Ministry, into bankable, revenue-generating projects that <\/span><b>build sustainable Own Source of Revenue<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (OSR).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Financing:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is facilitated through <\/span><b>Public Private Partnerships<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Corporate Social Responsibility contributions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, convergence with other schemes and bank finance, with NABARD and HUDCO as institutional partners.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Target:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> A <\/span><b>total of 350 projects<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are to be developed over four years, comprising 50 projects in the first year and 100 in each of the following three years.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Eligibility:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Gram Panchayats with a minimum OSR of <\/span><b>Rs. 50 lakh<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Block Panchayats with a minimum OSR of Rs. 1 crore,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> each with at least three years of tenure remaining, are eligible to apply, with relaxed thresholds for special category States.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>What is the SAMARTH Portal?<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>first-of-its-kind digital initiative<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj designed to strengthen the financial capacity of Gram Panchayats through <\/span><b>technology-enabled management of OSR.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is developed as a unified, configurable national platform which enables Gram Panchayats to <\/span><b>digitally manage the complete OSR lifecycle,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from taxpayer registration and demand generation to online payments, collection and real-time monitoring.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have already been onboarded on the portal.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2290029&amp;reg=48&amp;lang=2#:~:text\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Atmanirbhar Panchayat Program is a unique initiative of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
