{"id":115599,"date":"2026-07-28T13:57:22","date_gmt":"2026-07-28T08:27:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=115599"},"modified":"2026-07-28T13:57:22","modified_gmt":"2026-07-28T08:27:22","slug":"national-apprenticeship-promotion-scheme-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/national-apprenticeship-promotion-scheme-2\/","title":{"rendered":"National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme-2"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme-2 Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), informed the Lok Sabha about National Apprenticeship Promotion (NAPS -2) Scheme-2.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme-2<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is implemented throughout the country from 2022-23 by the <\/span><b>Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with the aim to promote apprenticeship training across India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme\u2019<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (NAPS) was <\/span><b>launched in August, 2016<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with the objective to promote apprenticeship training and to increase the engagement of apprentices.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under NAPS-2, the Government provides <\/span><b>partial stipend support to apprentices<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> engaged under the <\/span><b>Apprentices Act, 1961.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Features of NAPS-2<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Financial support through DBT:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Government provides stipend support to eligible apprentices engaged by establishments <\/span><b>under the Apprentices Act, 1961<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Government&#8217;s share being released <\/span><b>directly to beneficiaries through a Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Industry-led training:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Apprenticeship training is conducted in actual work environments using the training facilities available with participating establishments, <\/span><b>enabling hands-on learning and industry exposure.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Technology-enabled implementation:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> A dedicated online portal facilitates end-to-end implementation of apprenticeship training, including registration, contract approval, monitoring and disbursement ofbenefits.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Facilitation through TPAs:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Mobilisation of apprentices and establishments, particularly MSMEs, is supported through empanelled <\/span><b>ThirdParty Aggregators (TPAs).<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2289894&amp;reg=48&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>PIB<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme-2 is implemented throughout the country from 2022-23 by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
