text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The discovery brings the number of Tigidia species in India to eight.<\/span><b> Spiders of the genus Tigidia <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">occur <\/span><b>only in Madagascar, Mauritius, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>India<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Until now, species of this genus were known from peninsular India\u2019s tropical evergreen and deciduous forests, particularly the Western and Eastern Ghats.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trapdoor spiders are <\/span><b>long-living, sedentary spiders<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that <\/span><b>spend most of their lives in burrows<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, rarely leaving except to search for a mate.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The<\/span><b> doors of silk, soil, moss, and leaves<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that many species construct to<\/span><b> camouflage their burrows give this group its name.\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This adaptation has great advantages for the spider, providing <\/span><b>protection against desiccation and predators <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and enabling<\/span><b> efficient prey capture.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They <\/span><b>feed <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by <\/span><b>quickly opening <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the <\/span><b>trap door and grabbing an insect<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or other arthropod that is passing close by.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trapdoor spider<\/span><b> burrows aerate soil, maintain soil structure,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and provide <\/span><b>microhabitats for other organisms.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Highly sensitive <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to habitat disturbances, these spiders also serve as <\/span><b>ecological indicators,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with their presence suggesting a healthy ecosystem and rich soil biodiversity.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;
