12, 2026).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This amounts to nearly 4.5 thousand million cubic feet (tmc ft).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The decision comes amid <\/span><b>deficient <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">southwest monsoon <\/span><b>rainfall <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and severe water shortages in the Cauvery basin, reviving concerns over <\/span><b>equitable sharing <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of river waters during distress years.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Institutional Framework for Cauvery Water Management<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The
