{"id":116638,"date":"2026-08-02T14:01:01","date_gmt":"2026-08-02T08:31:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=116638"},"modified":"2026-08-02T17:05:38","modified_gmt":"2026-08-02T11:35:38","slug":"scheme-of-venture-capital-fund-for-scheduled-castes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/scheme-of-venture-capital-fund-for-scheduled-castes\/","title":{"rendered":"Scheme of Venture Capital Fund for Scheduled Castes"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Scheme of Venture Capital Fund for Scheduled Castes Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Scheme of Venture Capital Fund for Scheduled Castes is enabling Scheduled Caste entrepreneurs to establish technology-driven manufacturing enterprises, generate quality employment and contribute to India&#8217;s vision of self-reliance.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Scheme of Venture Capital Fund for Scheduled Castes<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>launched in 2014-15 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by the <\/span><b>Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Purpose:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To provide <\/span><b>concessional finance to SC entrepreneurs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and priority is given to Women\/Disabled SC Entrepreneurs<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Initial Capital: Initial Capital of the Fund was Rs. 200 crore,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which is to be supplemented every year.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Structure of the scheme:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The Fund has been set up and registered <\/span><b>under AIF regulations 2012 under <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/securities-and-exchange-board-of-india-sebi\/\" target=\"_blank\">SEBI<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with GoI as the Anchor investor and IFCI Ltd. as Sponsor investor.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has the unique feature of advancing loans from <\/span><b>Rs. 10 lakhs to Rs. 15 Crore.<\/b><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Funding pattern<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Financial assistance upto Rs 5 Crore<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; Investment under this category shall be funded <\/span><b>maximum upto 75% of the project cost<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the balance <\/span><b>25% of the project cost<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be <\/span><b>funded by the promoters;<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Financial assistance above Rs. 5 Crore: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Investment under this category shall be funded maximum <\/span><b>upto 50% of the project cost<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. At least <\/span><b>25% of the project cost<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has to be financed by <\/span><b>bank\/other institutions.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Balance <\/span><b>25% of the project<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> cost will be <\/span><b>funded by the promoters.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Objectives of the Venture Fund<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a social sector initiative to be implemented nationally in order <\/span><b>to promote entrepreneurship amongst the SCs <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who are oriented towards innovation and growth technologies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To <\/span><b>provide concessional finance to the SC entrepreneurs,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who will create wealth and value for society and at the same time will promote profitable businesses.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To <\/span><b>increase financial inclusion for SC entrepreneurs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and to motivate them for further growth of SC communities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To develop <\/span><b>SC entrepreneurs economically.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To <\/span><b>enhance direct and indirect employment generation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for SC population in India.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2293020&amp;reg=48&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Scheme of Venture Capital Fund for Scheduled Castes was launched in 2014-15 by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
