{"id":116857,"date":"2026-08-03T13:13:16","date_gmt":"2026-08-03T07:43:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=116857"},"modified":"2026-08-03T13:13:16","modified_gmt":"2026-08-03T07:43:16","slug":"national-roll-out-plan-for-the-vessel-communication-and-support-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/national-roll-out-plan-for-the-vessel-communication-and-support-system\/","title":{"rendered":"National Roll-out Plan for the Vessel Communication and Support System"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>National Roll-out Plan for the Vessel Communication and Support System Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Union Department of Fisheries approved the national rollout of the Vessel Communication and Support System (VCSS) under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About National Roll-out Plan for the Vessel Communication and Support System<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>envisages installation of indigenously developed transponders<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on one lakh <\/span><b>marine fishing vessels covering mechanized and motorized vessels<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of all 13 coastal states and UTs<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also focuses on establishment of the <\/span><b>required earth station<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and associated communication infrastructure and development of the <\/span><b>&#8216;Nabhmitra&#8217; application<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in regional languages.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>transponders are provided free of cost<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to eligible fishermen under the project.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Financial Assistance:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The project will be implemented on a <\/span><b>60:40 cost-sharing basis<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> between the Centre and the states, while <\/span><b>Union Territories will receive 100 per<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> cent central assistance.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Nodal Ministry:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry &amp;
