{"id":11756,"date":"2026-08-07T12:04:22","date_gmt":"2026-08-07T06:34:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=11756"},"modified":"2026-08-07T14:52:15","modified_gmt":"2026-08-07T09:22:15","slug":"gobardhan-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/gobardhan-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"GOBARdhan Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>GOBARdhan Scheme Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Union Cabinet has approved the GOBARdhan Scheme.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About GOBARdhan Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The GOBARdhan (<\/span><b>Galvanising Organic Bio-Agro Resources Dhan<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) is a National Circular Bioenergy Scheme that creates a nationwide <\/span><b>waste-to-energy ecosystem.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It aims to <\/span><b>increase domestic Compressed <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/biogas\/\" target=\"_blank\">Biogas<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (CBG) production nearly ten-fold, mobilize large-scale private investment and create a vibrant circular bioeconomy across the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Time Period:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It will be implemented <\/span><b>from FY 2026-27 to FY 2035-36<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and will establish Compressed Biogas as a major pillar of India\u2019s future energy mix.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Nodal Ministry:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Components of GOBARdhan Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Assured CBG Offtake: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under this, a dedicated framework requires <\/span><b>City Gas Distribution<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> entities to meet a <\/span><b>notified CBG blending obligation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of 3% in FY27, 4% in FY28, and 5% from FY29 onwards in CNG and PNG segments.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Stable CBG Pricing Framework: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">introduces a <\/span><b>stable administered CBG price of Rs.2,110<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> per Metric Million British Thermal Unit (MMBTU), supported through a government-backed pricing framework.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Capital Assistance: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eligible greenfield CBG projects will receive <\/span><b>capital assistance of up to Rs.2 crore per ton per day<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (TPD) of installed CBG capacity.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The support extends beyond core plant machinery to critical value-chain assets for feedstock aggregation, organic manure processing and value addition. Brownfield projects expanding their production capacity will also be eligible.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Development of Pipeline Infrastructure: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Scheme supports both <\/span><b>cluster-based and standalone pipeline infrastructure<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> connecting CBG plants with trunk pipelines and City Gas Distribution networks.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Credit Guarantee Support:\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A dedicated Credit Guarantee mechanism will <\/span><b>strengthen lender confidence<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and expand the flow of institutional credit to eligible MSME-based CBG projects.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>CBG Ecosystem Challenge Fund: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GOBARdhan establishes a dedicated CBG Ecosystem Challenge Fund to <\/span><b>accelerate district-level implementation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and strengthen local value chains across the CBG ecosystem.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2295480&amp;reg=48&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GOBARdhan Scheme is a National Circular Bioenergy Scheme that creates a nationwide waste-to-energy ecosystem.
